Crystal Anti-Exploit Protection is a product which attempts to prevent the silent installation of malware, spyware and other malicious software by increasing the barrier to exploitation for any program it protects.

 

 

Crystal is not an anti-virus and will not stop you from downloading dangerous files of your own free choice. Instead Crystal is designed to make it much more difficult for malware to silently install itself on your system due to security vulnerabilities within the software packages you use. Hence it is important to make sure that you add all programs which are exposed to the Internet (like the web browser) to the list of protected programs.

 

 

Multiple instances of protected programs are often listed when a program launches more than one copy of itself while giving the impression that a single instance is running (for example, Internet Explorer, Google Chrome and Adobe Acrobat Reader do this).

 

To disable Crystal for all programs, just click the Disable All button. You will know it is disabled because the blue text (displayed below the button) will turn red and read "Your System is not Currently Protected".
